    help in the truck please!

I'm having trouble when I am transitioning into the truck from when my opponent is on all fours. It doesn't happen all the time and I'm only just learning the position so I might be making a glaring mistake. I'm only 5 foot 2 and about 115lbs/ 53kg's so I'm very small and light.

When I roll back I can get my legs into the lockdown no problem but as I roll sometimes my partners other foot goes up high and I can't reach it to pull it back down. I tried to rock further back to try and catch it easier but my rolling partners weight is too much and he ends up rolling right over.

I also tried catching the foot as I roll back but I really need to throw my weight into it to sweep my partner. I tried to hold the foot as I roll but I couldn't get the leverage to sweep.

Hopefully you can all understand what I'm trying to say. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I get what you mean. Just go for de souza control instead of reaching for the foot. Being small I think that would be easier. Plus from de souza you can transition straight to the crotch ripper or the banana split.. Im 5'7 but it happens to me when I roll with my taller homies. So I start from de souza control right off the bat. Hope that helps

I agree. De Souza control might solve your problem. I tend to go straight to DSC personally

Ok. Are you familiar with all the terminology being spit at you? Cuz it's crucial to be on the same page before we start. Do you own Mastering the Twister?

Hey everybody, Thank you all for your help. De Souza control is definitely going to make a big noticeable difference for me. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the terminology but it's slowly coming together

Thanks for posting the links and times there Chris! I really appreciate it. That helped a lot. I love your avatar, makes me laugh every time I see it haha

I've been trying to catch one ankle and hook between the legs with the other arm but it wasn't working. Can't wait to try and drill this now. Thanks again everyone!
