Sam: about a week or so after Cora started JJ, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings (sport bar) to watch the Cain vs Brock Lesner fight. We were standing next to a few guys, as we were watching the fight, Cora process to start analyzing the fight (doing a play by play). Those guys turn around and in amazement as they see it was a girl enjoying the fight as much as them...LOL Soon your boy will be hanging out with you and they guys talking about MMA and JJ.... then you know he is really enjoying the sport. Here is a clip I just whipped up to show what Cora's been working on.

you know, sometimes I almost want to thank my father for walking out on his kids, and treating us like shit that doesn't exist for our entire lives. Has made me the father I am today. My kids will NEVER feel the way I did, or my siblings did as children. That makes me happy.

The ironic thing about that is that I made my 8 year old daughter watch the Cora highlight video 2x.

Sam: handsome boys you got there brother.

Ric: THis is the reason why I post everything that Cora does online. Others think I'm just boasting about her beating the boys..NO its not that at all. I do post her getting beat up by boys also..right? The reason why I want to share is that I'm a big JJ fan and when we were beginning this life style, I can't really find any "GOOD" videos of kids rolling using high level techniques. Not to mention some of those videos where taken by Ray Charles which left me sitting there wishing they would use the freaking ZOOM function. So with all my videos I want to change that, I want people to see clearly what the moves are and the clean transitions. Maybe some kid that just starting out can benefit from what we are doing. Remember, this sport is great, but if there were no new kids coming up to help push you, being at the top can be very boring. I have been searching for that "next level" for Cora to see what else can be accomplished and so far the ones that I have found are the Routolo Twins. Of all the kids around her age, I think they are IT. Even though they have different fighting style from Cora, she still can learn from them. I'm not sure how long it will take her to get to their level, maybe many more tournaments to build her confidence, maybe a couple more years of serious drilling, but no matter what we know that those boys are the "next level" for Cora. And I'm glad those boys post their videos also.
