I wanna see :-)
The first thing I would do is watch tape and identify all his leg lock positions of control/dead zones (his are similiar to the ones I teach).
For each one of those I would teach an escape and a counter attack.
Then I would identify his transitions to the those dead zones, and teach 2 counters to each one of them to prevent him getting to those deadzones.
The drills would be based on the those deadzones and those transitions.
Just like the drills you all ready focus on, using spiderweb as an example: Drill 1 would be caught in spiderweb. Drill 2 would be preventing transitions to spiderweb (ex. starting on your back preventing him from swimming to spiderweb)
I would follow this formula for each one of his deadzones and transitions to those deadzones.
If you want specfics I would have to go back and watch all the tape to see what he is doing exactly. However the one major flaw I see in his leg lock game imho is that he jumps too early on the sub before he has full control (think spider web without controling the legs). This would be something I would focus our gameplan on.
This response is all based on our time constraight, I wouldn't want to overwhelm my fighter with too many options (too many escapes and counters per position)
If I had a longer time period, as with my general students. My strategy is a tad different.
1)Escapes from Deadzones
2)Counter attacks from Deadzones
3)Escape during transition from Deadzone to Deadzone (lower to higher level of the positions of control)
4)Climb down the ladder of control (bringing them from a higher Deadzone to a lower Deadzone)
5)Escapes and Prevention of transitions to Deadzones
