Before I even saw the 10th planet lockdown I was quite good at using it, but of course it was from the normal figure 4 from the outside. About 3 years ago I downloaded the "Mastering the Rubber Guard" from Piratebay. I didnīt pay to much attention about the rubber guard at that time cause I was blown away with such small details as doing the lockdown from the other side (inside). I can tell you that this small detail improved my 1/2 Guard with %70 in just one day!! (shit! I sound like a fricken TV commercial). I have tried it on several BIG Bjj names and it works fantastic (Attention: I only tried to keep them in the lockdown to see if they anyway to get out of it, their skills was way over mine and killed me countless times)
Thereīs just a small problem with my obsession for the 1/2 guard (10th planet style), All my students pulls the Guard even if they have the chance to be on top:-) they see me every time trying to work on it..Iīm possessed.
I know that the lockdown has been used for a thousand years and Eddie wasnīt the one who invented it! But He was the one who put it all together in a system that is easy to understand,extremely effective and evolving everyday, NO BODY can say anything else PERIOD!
Here comes the funny part, the lockdown (system) is even better (most) with GI! At the time when I started to play with the lockdown I got My blackbelt in BJJ and
I didnīt see anyone doing anything whatsoever from this position, so I thought why not convert 10th system to Gi! Now I have got Eddies OK (Bless you) to do some technique videos for GI! We that sometimes roll with Gi will be called "the Hangmen" and hopefully we will have a 10th fan site.
Itīs a lot of things under construction and I hope that thereīs a few of you out there that have similar experiences and interest in this.
