Homie control to spiderweb

When coming up from homie control, do I go to the back by grabbing the lat and go straight to the the back? Or Is there a shorter way of going for the spiderweb role, I've got the spider web and I catch a few guys, but I'm struggling to get from homie control to the spider web, but in doing so I don't feel very controling upon changing from homie to spiderweb role, any ideas where I'm going wrong???

Depends how you get to homie control or prison gaurd

If your far foot is free, usually coming up from full guard double underhooks, you can put the deep hook in and swim to spider web right after you break the headlock

When you come up from lockdown you usually have your far foot caught in the body pyramid position, so you can't swim right from prison guard, you grab the lat and go to the back, once on the back you can swim

Once in homie clear the arm to get head and arm control, make sure you're using the body pyramid and dont have the bottom leg trapped in the half.
Take your free arm and hook his trapped arm while shifting your body to your belly and into swim move position.
Execute the swim move and you'll end up in the typical arm bar position.
Hook that near leg and his in da spiders web.

Once I'm in prison gaurd I can use my bottom leg to clear it's path by pushing on the knee flattening the guy out and then settle on the hip. But I did miss a step, from prison guard still use the lat and post to get the hook while setting up schwim move like Liquid Rob said.

The way I learned it was homie to prison to spider web

Yeah, you get homie control, break the whizzer or headlock, prison guard and than swim or take the back

The stronger one is from full guard, you can use the foot on the hip to help break the headlock and than cross your feet in high guard to keep the posture broke before swimming, you have the option to take the back or swim

If you come up from lockdown your foot gets caught so you have to break the whizzer and headlock without the foot on the hip, now you just have the body Pyramid to control posture instead of your feet crossed in high guard, plus you can't swim with the foot caught so your best option is to take the back

Control thr head/neck with one head, deep hook or grab the far lat to come up
