On Marcelos website he shows how to use the granby roll as an escape for when your opponent has your back and has a body triangle.

    It works surprisingly well.

Um, no I have never seen a vid, our school trains this alot. I'm small weight classes you usually can't get the ankle lock (or make it threatening enough for him to unlatch it on his own). That's where this one works best. I'm assuming bobby and I are talking about the same move?

^^ya me too! I always do the foot lock (doesn't always work and our guys now switch the triangle fast so it is always on top)or purposely get one arm trapped and try and slide down and turn and give him the triangle and just try and defend the triangle. Better be good at defending the RNC with one arm if your gonna be that dumb though!!

I like the triangle break in that Osiander vid. But seeing as how we're no gi, I think it's important to remember that we're defending against the seatbelt grip.....meaning we should defend the choke first before worrying about the legs. I've always preferred bridging up high and grabbing a baseball bat grip on the choking arm, then getting my head on the opposite side of that arm to avoid the choke.

Once you break the triangle and stuff the bottom hook, Bill Cooper shows a Darce available to you if you reach up around the head and roll up quick enough.

We've been drilling an escape from the triangle with the handfight: two on one, then pull their arm over the head like baseball bat control (Like twister baseball bat), then you kick out and under their triangle foot, use your leg to bring their foot up to your outside hand, then basically try to shove their foot in their own mouth.
It opens them up and allows you to take side control if you control the foot by gripping the toes and keep it tight the whole way through.
I will try to remember to bring my camera to class wed and see if Stew will let me film him doing it. It works really nicely, I have been using it live rolling any time I get caught now.

I'll beg him. It's works amazingly as long as you get control of both the hand and the foot. If you don't have both, you find yourself fighting back and forth getting one and losing the other.
