For the longest time I was all paranoid about letting my mouthguard touch the mat, or touching it with my hands, etc.
I don't care anymore. It just happens. I'm at a point now where if it fell out of my mouth and hit the floor, I would just brush it off and plop it back in. (It does and I do)
In fact now days half the time if I am trying to help my girls when they are repping technique I will take it out so I can talk and throw it on the floor if I need to show them something with my hands. I guess it's gross, but whatever. I'm over it.
All that being said, I wouldn't throw it on the mats in an area that is high traffic and all sweaty: I aim for the dry corners and hope for the best. lol.
