    Larger opponent drills

My cousin whom is my regular training partner is 60+ pounds heavier than I am. When we roll he usually gets the better of me and I have a hard time simply getting out of his dominate positions. He himself has been studying a lot of the 10th Planet system as well as Marcelo Garcia techniques. I was wondering what type of drills or techniques we can run so at least I can slow my cousin down that way it's not always a one sided match when we train? Rolling is fun but it's getting difficult for us both, as we are looking both to improve our game but he hardly has to defend and I hardly get a chance to attack. Any specific drills or techniques would be great information for us both...Thanks in advance.

Learn butterfly and evil guard. They will have a tough time passing your guard. When people celebrate passing your guard you'll know you've made it.

Positions like: Butterfly's, deep-half, x-guard, and cade nelsons Z-guard are all good for dealing with big guys. Develop your sweep game from those positions... Top is key when your down 60 lbs. staying on bottom will get you crushed without having a nasty guard already...even then sometimes

The principle behind all these guards being described is avoiding and diverting your opponents weight off of you. NEVER be flat on your back under an opponent. Try to remain sitting or on your side with your shoulders perpendicular to the mat while framing with all limbs and intelligently searching for hooks with all limbs as well. All good open guards are built around these principles.
