well eddie and his crew were filming a bunch of the seminar, so i really hope that theyll be in one the next few MTS episodes. i know how you feel as im doing the ronin thing atm too. best thing would be to invest in oen of his seminars and learn it there.

also when they bash you can follow up by telling your idiot instructor that the rnc doesnt work and point out countless times it didnt. When he defends with his examples of how it does then do the same with rg..
true dat my Badger, good idea.

i'm very curious to see the new RG improvements.

    Do they do any nogi?
not at the gym yet, i have been told when we have more blue and people have learned well in the gi then we'll have some no-gi as the instructor does train no-gi as well (although seems to heavily favor gi and silly moves that only work in gi, fuck i hate moves using the lapel to manipulate people).

oh and yeah they mentioned the killing your knees thing of course and how many surgeries Eddie has had. which is plain idiotic since i know few black belts that haven't had knee surgery and most of them don't use any RG. these fucks also blew off one of my favorite 10th P black belts, fucking ignorant assholes. anyway thanks all, i appreciate the posts. maybe someday we'll have a 10th P hotbox here in the San Lorenzo Valley or at least in Santa Cruz.

Keep a cool head bro. It's an insult when they so casually dismiss something we are so passionate about, but don't let it poison your attitude.

Again I will mention one of the best lessons I learn on this forum from Bobby Rivers:
"The best way to represent 10th planet is with tight lips and even tighter technique."

I have never worn a Gi in JJ ever, but I am curious to know if the Rubberguard path can be used in the Gi, or is it shut down?
If it's workable, just run a train on them with Rubber guard into Gogo or Omo over and over.

Agreed with comment from Bobby, I try my best to do that, but I'm a bit rusty. None the less yes it's workable in gi, just harder due to friction, I often have to settle for grabbing the top of my shin if I'm struggling. But I catch blues and whites in it quite often to the oma path. My instructor hates it when he sees it too, he'll yell from across the gym for them to stand up or posture out but my legs are my one heavy strong part on me so it isn't that easy. Guys at a 10th P school of course are way better than I at it but in a gym that denies the game it works much better heheh

I'll rep the best I can and stay cool

When I roll in the gi, I pull rg if its there. It's no different than in nogi. If its there you pull it if you want.

I'm with you on that Rick: Gi or No gi, if you are in position for the RG, do it. Yesterday Cora got invited to cross train with some of the kids from various schools. There were about 5 black belts that come out to help with the kids. And Cora put on a rubber guard clinic for them. Most of the black belt haven't seen Cora in action before with her rubber guard, but the parents have as most of the kids are some of the ones she tapped out at tournaments with the rubber guard. I think she really make a statement that day. And yes it was the RG in GI...

no kidding. nothing does work very well at the highest level. that's why those guys are at the highest level.

i don't see too many americanas being applied at ADCC, but nobody yells at white belts for using them.
True. And yet, Vinny Mag still pulled off basic path to an omo sweep.

RG is not all about flexibility. I think angle is very helpful for the inflexible.

Eggs Zach Lee. I'm not flexible, but I can work a pretty functional RG and meat hook game.
