Ok, noob question,
Other people are finally playing lockdown on me (and in some cases, getting sophisticated in their defense). That can only be good for my training, so I couldn't be more pleased.
But last night somebody put the lockdown on me. I couldn't get the buttocks compressor and we were up against the wall, so I couldn't capoeira pass (yes, we could have moved, but we were having fun with it). I was trying to work the defense of just looping my ankle out and trying to straighten the leg, but my opponent had much longer legs than mine and was clever in reacquiring the lockdown.
As this battle continued, I became aware that my foot was getting really tired. I hadn't put the boot on (am not sure I should), and it was fully extended. The pain got to be pretty nasty and I'm not sure where my physical limit is, so when I started getting that kind of pain that says "you're about to be injured bro" I tapped.
It got me thinking, which is a dangerous habit for a white belt (the lowest form on the earths), so I'll just ask questions instead:
* Has anyone else experienced this?
* Was it a fluke? Or is this repeatable? Is this an attack that a person could learn to do from lockdown?
* Is it easily defended by putting the boot on and I was just being a noob to tap to something so weak?
* Anybody ever had their foot injured from a straight ankle lock from lockdown?
Thanks.
