The one time she played top, she shredded dudes guard. More of that. She needs the experience in live matches. She's on her way to being really well rounded. If she gets swept, well sucks for them. For the first 2 minutes of every match I recomend she try to control top position, via takedown or sweep. She just murders from full guard and doesn't worry bout sweeping. Nothing wrong with that. But it will stop and she will need her sweeps. Can tell y'all been working passing. Awesome.

Bout 220 or so passed up prison guard and homie control. Y'all got there yet?

Bobby: being a purple belt you can see even with your eyes closed...LOL yes buddy we have been working on her passing for the past 3 wks. This is the weakest part of her game as of the moment. Once she pass the guard, she have so many top side subs. And of course her bottom game is always there if they sweep her. Yes we have worked on the prison guard, but not much homie control. For the past 3 wks, we have been working on:

Passing: M1, knee slice, twister pass, DLR pass, stack pass, spider guard pass, leg drags
Top attack: knee ride, chopping block, north south choke, gogoplata, spiderweb armbar, monoplata, straight jacket (all of this in the form of one big drill sequence)
bottom attack: meat hook, pop triangle from RG to swim move to spiderweb to gogo to mono (all the rubber guard attacks)
back attack: bow and arrow choke, rnc to swim move to spiderweb to gogo to mono to straight jacket
    (notice the route/ path??)
    All the escapes and defense.

And last Friday we worked on the Muddy Waters. As you can see in the videos, some of the pathways shows up as we had drilled it.

So basically for right now, we have a lot of techniques that we are working on and still perfecting. We will drill all of this for the next 3 wks, getting ready for NAGA and will continue to work on these techniques for the rest of the summer. I feel that right now we have all the techniques necessary to make her game whole, just need to polish it up.

If she keeps going the way she is we are watching the evolution of the womens jiu jitsu scene. Can you imagine Cora at 18 with almost 10 years of grappling experience? Completely blows my mind.

My daughter just turned one and I cannot wait to introduce her to BJJ. Maybe in 10 years she can take some privates off Cora?

    Sounds good Bruce.

Just remember how little is learned with a dominant tourney. It's def badass to have positive reinforcement for all the hard work, but nothing compared to the growth of hitting a road block and losing because of it. Try to analyze technical mistakes or missed opportunities in victories like they could of cost the match and address them as such. Just givin advice that really helped my game.

    Y'all just keep on. Awesome.

Bobby: yes that is a great advice buddy. What we learn from this tourney is that we need to clean up and polish those techniques that she already know. Just becus she knows it doesn't mean its goood.

Wow. Cora's rg clinch appears to be alot stronger and tighter. You can tell she has taken her game to the next level. I love the lockdown to full guard transition, soooo important. Also loving the swim moves to spider web. Mad excellent work, I am very proud to have Cora exposing the rg to the Texas Bjj scene, she is an important part of 10p history :-)

Thank you Master Eddie for your kind words. Cora is reading all of this along side me.. We have been working on her squeezing and clinching power as you suggested. Cora was the talk of the tournament this past Sat. Even the table workers know who she is and even ask her to slow down and not end the match so fast because they want to see more... Cora is throwing every 10thplanet techniques that we know all in front of their face. A lot of the parents tell their kids to "watch her, watch her" as an example of what they want their kids to be like. Cora is having so much fun being a little star of the show... Thank you.
