I thought I'd take a minute to let the 10th Planet community (especially the women) know about the Vision tournaments in California. Here's a blurb from their website:
"The idea behind Vision is to make a tournament that benefits everyone. Some need experience and we guarantee 3 matches. Other competitors are looking for a bigger prize. For all gold medalists, Vision also offers a scholarship which will pay for the entry fee of ANY tournament they want. Beginners get the experience they need, winners get the recognition they deserve. The first of many Vision Tournaments!"
My teammates and I have taken part in several tournaments held by the same organization. They're fun, there's always a good group of people, and they're well-organized. I think it's pretty awesome that they guarantee 3 matches (especially for the women who usually only get one or two, and usually in combined brackets because there are never enough ladies competing), and I don't think I've seen any tournament offer scholarships to other tournaments...!
Without sounding too infomercial-y, I think this is a good opportunity for a lot of grapplers, female *and* male, and I encourage anyone within a reasonable distance to compete and support this grassroots organization.
If there are other 10th Planet gyms that have competed in the Dream and Vision tournaments, feel free to comment/elaborate.
