This weekend did not go as planned. Decided Thursday to go to the chiropractor because I was having numbness in my left hand. Got adjusted and felt great, but by Thursday night something slipped out in my neck and could barely move my neck and left shoulder. Didn't sleep at all. Got readjusted Friday morning felt better. Did the four hour drive to Seattle. By bed time neck and shoulder were done again. Got very little sleep again. Lucky for me my fiance is a message therapist and she did what she could with it. So needless to say, matches were rough on Saturday.
Did gi first. First time ever competing in a gi and only been rolling in one for 3 months. Lost first match by triangle, couldn't posture up to escape. I was leading 9 to 4. Won second match 11 to 0.
No gi was in the late afternoon. I debated if I was going to go through with it because neck was killing me and I had lost most of my strength in my left arm. Ended up going through with it and lost 2 to 0. Wrestling was tough because of no strength. Hit a nice arm drag but couldn't finish. Got to lockdown, but just couldn't whip up to run any sweeps. This is the same guy I lost to in the gi match. Good guy, but I felt I could have beat him and gone on to place if I was 100%, but it is what it is. After the match we were talking and he said "I don't know what you were doing with your legs, but I couldn't move", my response was 10th Planet! I was done after this match and decided to forfeit the rest of my matches I figured I had already had pushed way too much.
Sorry for being long winded!! Please feel free to tear this up, I could use some honest feedback. Thanks.
