If I may add my two cents, I've learned from experience and injury (which is basically experience gained in the toughest way), to listen to your body. Unless you have someone who is keeping a watchful eye on you, you have to be your own best coach.
When the baby doesn't wake you up in the night, or your woman
you'll get more rest, and typically a better day of training.
There are a number of key factors that play into your frequency of training.
When I was training 5 times a week in Muay Thai, I was sleeping 8 hours a night, eating 4-6 times a day of really wholesome food, and the most important thing is that I broke up my training routine.....
I never went full tilt every day. If I was sore, I did light drilling or a 5km jog (don't ask me to convert into miles, cuz I ain't gunna)....or I simply went back to polishing my basics. Sometimes I simply hung around the gym and watched guys train while I stretched.
It took a while for me not to give into my ego, which continues to tell me to buy a monster truck and hunt sharks, but once I learned the benefit of taking it easy, I was able to train almost everyday, while continually learning something and staying fit.
I hope this helps in some way. All the best in your pursuits!
