    Knee On Belly

Who comes to mind when you think of someone with a mean knee on belly? I prefer the position over side control and I cant really think of any KOB killers out there. The only instructional I'm seeing is by a guy named Jared Weiner and a few youtube videos but it doesnt seem like too many people have put the time into it to make it a dead zone. Just a theory of course..

Lighter guys use it a lot because it's so easy to transition from. I think a lot of people get too hung up on using it to crush ribs and don't use it as a way to float

I like to get to it then as if with any type of offensive position look to transition to the sub. I've been going to the position to see what the reaction is and there's a ton of possibilities. Cyborg has a great triangle transition I'm going to drill. The only escape ive seen is when they jam your knee on belly foot in to get to a quarter guard. Which is actually pretty easy to counter with a simple knee slice/baseball slide. I dunno I just really like the position because you can make it very uncomfortable and have quite a few submission opportunities.

I mostly use it to stabilize the pass. It stops them from getting the bottom knee in or relooping. Usually, they turn in and you can spin to the back.

    Some Examples:

At :18 you see Sim go knee on belly then spin. Its really fast, but that's exactly what I am talking about

At 1:19 you can see the floating, how he uses knee on belly to switch sides. Windshield wiper is just so awesome.

Those are just off the top of my head, Glover does it a lot too I just can't think of specific matches. Sorry for only using my coach, I have his matches better memorized than other people

I competed against a black belt named Daniel Tavarez. He made me a believer in knee on belly. I have been playing with it since.

I don't know what that means but you are very welcome

Gray- those were a couple great examples. I always forget about Sim but I really like his style.
