Nice, I guess I have hit it a few times, because it is right there. Not as fluid, as I usually stop and set up the neck tie. Love it. Your so fluid at it, I will definately work at making it seemless now.

Thanks everyone, im glad that people like my transition.

It is very simple as long as you know the jj sweep and necktie as stand alone moves, i get it close to 100% of the time off the J.J sweep because you land with your arms in position for it you dont have to grip fight them into position, you dont have to switch the direction of your momentum after the sweep just continue it and your opponent should put himself into it by trying to escape from side control.

    Its a fuel efficient move

Very good stuff Ryan! I like it! I use a slightly different variation of that to get to a D'arce (Jap neck is a great move but I have mastered the darce, and i dont think ive ever "finished" a Jap neck!) Its not off the JJ sweep its off a weird little butterfly thingy, I dunno what its called. I would love to show it to you guys. Barncat and I got it from a friend of ours who owns a school in Houston a few years back. He was actually showing a jap neck tie there. Good stuff. It fits really well into my whizzer game. Again, good stuff Ryan

Maybe so, Im not sure what you'd call it. He wasnt doing a marce or darce at all though.. its a weird sweep using an overhook/whizzer into a jap neck tie. I changed it into a darce at the end because im good at those and suck at the jap.

I would make a vid, but im all for that rule of needing to be a brown belt to make a technique vid. You were a special case, as Eddie himself asked you to make the vid. Very cool, and you did a great job too.

Fair enough, i think it maybe brownbelt or winning comp record but its been a while simce i read the affiliation package, if that move works well for you and you change your mind I think that there is a youtube account where you can post videos and eddie will review them. i thought thats what i was going to have to do but eddie told me just to throw it up

Wow, very cool. Well its not that its my best entry into the darce. Its legit though, and like I said, its not my move. A friend and school owner in Houston showed it to us when we visited his gym a couple years back. He is all no-gi and damn legit but he spent many many years in the gi...theres a chance its a standard gi move that translates well into a clinchy no-gi style. I wouldnt know, I only wear bath robes after a shower at a fancy hotel! haha. Either way, I like yours better as its from a much more common and higher % sweep.

BTW, I respect BJJ and the gi. I was not making a stab at you gi guys. It was my funny way of saying I know absolutely nothing in the gi.
