I Always Get Guard Pulled on Me

Sounds like you need to start working on paths that lead back to the guard from all other positions. I've had to do that. One of the holes I've had in my game is getting caught in bottom side and also, not being able to get back to my guard. So for like 3 weeks I let everyone pass my guard and land in side, then I'd work escapes that lead back to my guard. I could've just started in guard, but then I wouldn't have patched the hole in my game. You suck at half guard, but you get there. You get caught in bottom side. You get caught in bottom mount. There's so many transitions to be learned! Wizar pimp, Jailbreak, escape from Alcatraz, etc. So many awesome escapes and transitions to learn.

I personaly would go with pass, mount, roll plan. Just asking would be too easy.

Your bottom half should be strong. Its was my favorite 10th planet stuff until the new path. Do you have Mastering the hubber guard? It breaks down the bottom half well including a technique eddie uses to get bottom half when starting on knees.

-ask to start full guard
-learn to posture up and get out of full guard so you can then below,
-pass guard really hard and heavy, If people know that you might drop on them with your hip and ass, they'll start not wanting you to pass. They will scoot away and stand up to avoid the hib battering. Mmaahhhwahaha (you better get good at controlling people with your legs when they are doing standing passes because they'll try to do the same thing for revenge, and dont do it to weak people, they might break)
-get more familiar with leg locks so you can respect instead of fear them.

I agree with ScottRay. Just simply ask, "hey I want to work my guard. Can we start there?".

Fully agree Blake, just ask to start in guard or any position for that matter I'm sure your training partners will be more than glad to let you

Im missing something, why would they just get in your guard? Personally I'd go for standing passes.

They're not going to just get in, but lets say they go to pass into side control. Just just have your jail break ready to go and BAM! Guard.

Also, if he's trying to be a guard player it will help him to not have such an easy guard to pass by starting in boot scoot. He'll also have to learn guard recovery when it does get passed. Handy stuff!

Yea, I've been doing that for a few weeks bc I've been trying to work guard, guard recovery, and side control escapes. It all flows together.
