Im glad that you are having success with it

The aspect of my game Im working on most right now isnt a specific position its finding pathways to navigate where I dont have to switch my grip to finish. Like say I do a double underhook hooksweep and I land in half guard top, I go to the no hand pass because thats what I already have a grip for and then I go for something like a farside armbar because I get it off my far underhook

The pearl harbour transition was the first one I came up with, the controling grip the sweep comes off of is basically the fishing grip for the following submission

its already been said but marcelo garcia has some great stuff from butterfly guard. and something ive found is getting good at moving your butt. if you can get your butt further in on your sweeps then their centre of gravity is weaker. what i generally do when going most of my sweeps from butterfly guard is pull them once i the direction i want to go let them react and then throw myself into the sweep properly. the initial movement puts them off balance and takes their mind off what im doing.

ryan would you mind givnig a better description of what pearl harbour is? sounds interesting

There was a video posted last week, its a transition from the j.j sweep to jap necktie, Sean has been using it off a guillotine hook sweep. It works because the overhook grip is required for those hook sweep variations

Like to escape side u have to turn in and hook guard and to escape the necktie you have to unhook guard and get flat to your back.

Just focus on upper body control first...then angle out your hips. It's all about countering the post weather it's arm or leg. Have a good transition to goto so you don't get stuck. I like to go to deep half. But since the control of the upper body makes or breaks all but the clubbing one I would focus on the cacoon. Get good at that before you go video crazy!

I hit the Pearl Harbor last week. 10 seconds left on the clock hit the sweep right into the necktie.

Do a forum search for pearl harbor The title of the thread will be jj sweep to jap necktie, its the 2nd thing that comes up when I search pearl harbor the first is this thread

Its spelt in the title harbor (american spelling) not harbour. If you try and spell it harbour it may not come up
