i worked this a little bit yesterday, tough part seems to be getting the arm deep enough to grab my own shin, im guessing a little more turning of the upperbody may help with that.

I 1st learned this submission from Robert Drysdale's Nth Dimension BJJ Instructional many years ago.
Though I abandoned it because it was against the laws of the rubber guard I had learned from Eddie Bravo's Mastering the Rubber Guard.
When I say "Laws of the Rubber Guard" I just mean that I would be trying to maintain an overhook with the choking arm.
