Competed in the Midwest Submission Challenge yesterday in the Heavyweight Division, I took first place, but was hoping you guys would give me some pointers. I'm really looking for help on guys that are actually bigger than I am, which isn't often in tournaments yet. Any critique is greatly appreciated, thanks. With legs as rubbery and long as yours. You shouldn't have too much of a problem with big guys. Most big guys wanna stay on top and ride it out, where it looks like your guard is a solid part of your game. Just keep on doing your thing and I'm sure you'll continue to have success.

Looked good. When you have the leg focus on the sweep first, you can't really sub him when he is standing. If possible keep a hand on his head during the triangle it'll help kill his posture, if he does start standing hook the leg to keep him down. Stopping their posture and stopping shoulder pressure are going to be issues with bigger guys just keep it in mind. You looked good and your triangle was killer, keep it up.

Thanks for the advice so far. I wasn't really trying to sub him while he was standing, I was trying to piss him off enough so he would come into my guard, and what sweep were you referring to? I'm not too familiar with De La Riva, X-Guard sweeps. Here is the other video as well, I feel this is the one that needs most critiquing. Thanks again, and sorry the video cuts short just before the straight ankle lock, my phone ran out of memory.
