He talked about how the Judo association took Judo from legit martial art to obscure sport, and how the association black listed him because of his incorporation of catch wrestling techniques (probably among other things from what I've heard about Gene

I think its natural to defer to an association, in the U.S. the prestige of an association is synonymous with high achievement (i.e. the NBA and NFL), but I think there should be more caution in the martial arts. I am certainly not trying to take the wind out of anyone's sail who has an ibjj tournament coming up, i'm still really proud of my 3rd place medal at pan ams (as a white belt

) but I think an honest discussion is a healthy thing. From the letter I posted, it seems like things are far from a healthy discussion and more of a one way street.
