    Constructive Cristism

Here are my matches from this past weekend. Points i felt good on: Cardio,Defense. Points i know need attention...1st foremost my weight since taking on a desk job i have put on a lil more weight not to happy with it back to no soda working out is coming back and more practice. 2nd Wrestling I felt like crap on this shot an awful shot my first match and just stopped i waited and let the guy take my back.Referee's position also and also seen a spot where i should of went to dog fight. Also need to figure out escapes from bottom. Bottom side control is my worst spot I have put alot of time in there also bout alls i could do both my matches is keep moving. So here are both my matches any and all criticism is appreciated I got my big boy panties on and want to get working on stuff have 3 big tournaments coming up in the next 3 months 1 each month and need to get nailing at these holes.

To me, you have already pointed out what you need to work on. Work your weakness until they become strengths. From bottom side I try to work three options. Zogs ghost series. Empty half guard sweeps. And also outside underhook and coming up to my knees. If you work this also work front head lock escapes. If you're not a strong wrestler, get good at bottom side. Don't stay flat. You might want to check out Jon Trenge's wrestling stuff, in my opinion it's really good stuff. It has helped my stand up game. Also, have a game plan going in to each match. Know what you want to do and if your opponent takes you away from that plan have options from each position to get back to your plan. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.

My ultimate game plan is top control i have lots of options from their ans is where I really shine...Well lets face it most HW jj players shine at top. I did try an awful awful version of the ghost somewhere in it but i think my arm placement was wrong i know i swung my legs around and tried to scoot my hips out but think i just ended up in a north south. What are the empty guard sweeps?

I first found it in MTS 57 2:12:39 Flow over sweep, from Tim Gillette. He has a few more options on this youtube page:

Glad it helps. Hopefully some of the more experienced guys and gals jump on and voice their opinion also. When I posted my videos I got nothing!

If bottom side control is your worst position, then either go to an Eddie seminar(as its what hes been teaching lately), or get with someone who has been and understands the moves he taught!

The first fight is all escapes... and my previous comment should address some of that.
As for the second, the main thing I saw was that when you had lockdown your ankles werent very close to each other. If other guy had experience with lockdown he probably would have passed quicker. Keep those ankles close and feet flexed. It allows for a tighter grip and therefore easier to whip em up and get unders
Then all side control escapes after he passes... Leaning on the door, heisman, bicep control/wrist control, meathooks.. .all terms from eddies seminars on side control that you should REALLY look into!
Great job repping 10p though! Very excited to see your next matches!!
