My thoughts in no apparent order, take them or leave them.
For what it's worth, if you have kids (particularly young kids) you probably get this. If you don't, you probably don't get it.
Bottom line, really young kids are information sponges. "Mommy, what's a crackhead?" Single young male: you are probably thinking "just explain it to him. He has to learn eventually. THAT'S REAL LIFE SON!" Yeah, now your four year old gets nightmares and asks people on the street if they are crackheads. Dude, he's four. He can be a child for a while longer.
Anybody knows how to raise my sons better than I do, be sure to send me a private message.
That said, I'm pretty sure if you said "Kraken control" in the company of small children, I doubt anybody would be like "You mean CRACKHEAD CONTROL?? Hey little kid, you ever seen a crackhead?"
Lastly, I think updating the terminology might make the spread of the 10th Planet system easier. I could imagine instructors not wanting to pick it up and teach it to kids because it's all douchebags, crackheads, etc. But it's hard to argue with what wins.
