UFC or EA MMA? which do you favor?

So, we all have a huge thing in common, we're nuts about grappling, and im sure we all watch UFC. But what about playing it?

Im sure many if not all of us have played UFC 2009 and 2010. Now EA sports has come out with EA MMA.

any opinions about the two? which do you prefer? I think both have thier pro's and cons.

With UFC, I keep getting P.O. because the submissions/ applying them is bogus and insanely hard to do and make them effective.

UFC had good visuals and some pretty good animations on the moves. but the submissions just drove me mad.

EA MMA (from what i can tell from the demo) has decent visuals, could be better, pretty nice fluid motion, VERY PRACTICAL AND somewhat REALISTIC fight scenarios.

IE: in UFC, you can take the fight to the ground right away, but chances are you are not going to win by submission.
Where as in MMA, if your strongest area is BJJ,wrestling or Judo and your opponent is only strong in Thai Kickboxing and boxing, you can literaly end the fight in 30seconds by submission. the submission game in MMA is more based on stamina control and timing. either hit your button quicker without gassing, or rotate the thumb stick and find the tension point first multiple times.

The other cool thing about MMA is that since its from EA, the punch and kick controll is like EA fightnight. punch and kick with the right stick, and toggle punch/kick with the left trigger/ bumper button.

Over all I think I like MMA a little better, but the visuals could have been much better.

I like the game strategies in EA MMA even though there's some animation quirks. The game mechanics are over simplified but anything is better than that stupid "Shine" system in UFC.

I like the EA game much better. The striking is so much more fluid than than the ufc's version. There were a lot of things in the ufc game I had no idea to do and they weren't explained either. I like that EA MMA has simple controls but to be good you have to have complicated timing, the takedowns, the combos. It's far from perfect but it's a step in the right direction.

I have only played 2010 and I thought it was a great game but EA sounds like it could be better I would really like to see how it all works.

i just hated the submission game in UFC. pretty much impossable to complete a submission from the start or even int eh middle of the fight after striking afew times.

EA i feel puts a little more focus on the styles attributes vs what your opponent knows. if your good at BJJ and kcik boxing and you opponent only boxing and kick boxing, you are able to submit them early.

EA MMA is the better game as far as stand up is concerned, using the right toggle to punch is amazing, i thought it was gonna be tough but it's really easy, and it also allows you to set up combos really easy. The submissions in EA are much easier to complete and training your fighter in career mode is alot funner than in UFC. I can't say that I like it more than UFC because I like the gameplay in UFC and if anything the fact that getting submissions is tougher makes the game more interesting. But I do think THQ could learn a thing or to from EA.

I played EA MMA at E3 this year. It blew me away. It was the only game I cared to play. I love UFC Undisputed, but everything I complained about..anyways the controls for EA MMA are great especially for grappling.
