Just wanted to share that our boy 10th Planet JJ Melbourne/ REAL MMA & GVJJ fighter James 'Lo-Ri' Londrigan won his pro MMA debut subbing his opponent inside a minute this past weekend.
The fight went almost exactly to our plan.
James striking is still Raw and we knew his opponent had the experience in this area, but he picked his spot right and forced the takedown.
They landed next to the ropes but the angle forced James to be a bit high and light in side control allowing his opponent to undertook escape to his knees but straight into James's arm in guillotine.
James showed amazing patience and belief in his technique adjusting it perfectly and using any space his opponent made to strengthen the choke, until he informed the ref the guy was slumped out cold and we had our second pro MMA victory this year.
This is huge for us, we're a small club but we're growing quick.
We have an expanding stable of fighters, the winningest Thai and MMA trainer in the region, the only ranked Jiu-Jitsu instructors in the area, and are even home to Multiple Australian Kickboxing champion.
Of course we owe a big chunk of our success to our Coach Frank Barca and our 10th Planet JJ Melbourne team for all of the support.
Frank is an exceptional Instructor and fo' sure there would have been no guillotine finish at all without him.
We're both so honoured to be your blue belts.
