    how do you roll?

ive been thinking about how i roll. im not a big dude and the guys at my gym are mosnters, so i generally work my arse off capitalising on their mistakes and pushing them to make mistakes. the good ol use their own strength against them. i like baiting when i can get it like the ninja choke from rubber guard etc. i was just wondering who is the same? or different. maybe youre a slab or pure muscle that throws it down. mix of both?

I have to play a very different game agents guys over 200lbs. Play deep half and go for leg locks positions that keep the bulk of their bulk off of you. Outside of that I work hard to get top position! Most of the big guys start to gas out after two minutes.

I almost got choked out the other day trying to do a Granby Roll. I was the only person in the gym. Bigger isn't much of an asset.

I am 170lbs... with bigger guys, I'm always working butterflies/X-Guard/STOMP trying to keep them off balance, and put myself in a position where I'm on top. With HUGE guys (who know what they are doing)... I notice that I constantly have to keep them moving and I can't give them a chance to settle/lie all of their weight on me.

I play lazy jiu jitsu. I don't like to work hard. I like to stay calm and relaxed and just flow. Tie people up, make them breathe harder then me, then look for a finish, or catch them being sloppy. Against big people my game is get to the back. I've had people power out of arm bars/locks, but chokes are much harder to muscle out of (and in fact in many cases muscling just brings the tap that much quicker).

I like to make the bigger guys work hard, tire them out make them gas then freakin attack like starving dog on a peanut butter sandwich.

I went from a 205er to a 170lber, and my game has been increasing in speed, but I still play on my back regardless of how heavy the other guy is.

But if a bigger dude sits back and plays guard I will not argue and just go for top game, stay heavy because I know they want the sweep. If I play guard against a bigger guy, I always end up running away with open guard, and standing back up (sweep if I can).

Smaller dude, I will try both top and bottom game and just flow through positions.

The thing I notice the most when going with heaver guys is that it is HARD to keep them on their backs, they can sweep easier than most due to plain ol' physics.
