Hey buddy, had the exact same thing happen to me 5 months ago. A certain white belt toe held (helded, holded...) me and cranked. NOTE: white belts are not allowed to do foot locks, toe holds, etc in our gym. It sounded like a gun went off in my ankle. Got it on video too :/ I am no doctor, and if you absolutely can't afford a trip to the doctor or urgent care clinic this is what I suggest (as told to me by my doctor). Make sure you don't roll, as hard as that may be

for at least 2 months. Stay off of it initially for two to three weeks. Borrow some crutches or a boot. R.I.C.E it like Brandon suggested every night. After you feel like you can put some weight on it and the swelling has gone down, start walking on it daily for a couple of hours as much as the pain will allow. This is what the doctor told me which sounded backwards at first but makes sense now as I have full range of motion again. Some normal things I felt with it, a decent amount of pain, swelling, and a popping/clicking noise when I put weight on it. But I was told I needed to walk on it and stretch it as much as I could to keep the tissue from hardening which causes a lot more problems down the road. Stretch it until you feel pain and stop, don't over do it. Also if you are laying on the couch or laying down draw the alphabet with your big toe in the air, that is a good one Brandon^^ taught me

I was off my ankle for a total of three months. I started slow rolling during the 4th month, make sure you don't roll with any white belts. And TAPE THAT FOOT! YouTube how to tape an ankle with a torn ligament. It's pretty easy once you get used to it and if you are active you need that extra support. I'm at 5 months now and almost 90%, sometimes the ankle is sore after class but I rest it and the next day it is fine and like I said because I walked on it and stretched it while it was healing the tissue was able to heal AND stay loose instead of harden. Don't let the time off get you down either. Study study study, I watched so many Cyborg videos on YouTube it wasn't even funny, go to class and watch people roll, it is awesome to have an outside perspective, you see things you might have missed if it was you rolling. If you have any questions at all feel free to ask. Again I'm no doctor but I went through the exact same thing and am doing just fine now
