Ok heres a perfect example of what we are referring too.

I've held back on the full story as I really liked guy and thought him and his family were super nice. A few years ago on the forum there was a bunch of youtube videos floating around about the puppet master rubber guard series. I questioned the validity of the series as I saw a ton of holes in it He had posted here a few times in the past (side note he misrepresented his rank, listed his rank as a purple belt, when he came to my school he told me he had no rank, after he left he then demoted himself to blue belt, even after he told me he had no rank).

So one day I get a call, this same guy and his family where in Rochester visiting some family, and asked if he could drop in and train. So he came in took class and then rolled with the crew. I purposely put myself in his Rubber Guard. It was horrible, I passed like it didn't exists. I even put myself back into guard just so he could work it more, he never got further than mission control and I was barely resisting. After tapping him several times he went on to roll with everyone else. He couldn't use his Rubber Guard against any of my guys, even the white belts. Everyone that rolled with him tapped him, with the exception of one of my newer white belts, who still completely dominated him. Several people on the forum ranted and raved about how revolutionary the puppet master series was and how it was going to add to the system. However he couldn't even use it on my white belts. It was never tested in competition against legit opponents, and when he finally met some, its got smashed. I still see the videos popping up to this day on other forums being passed of as 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, its is not, and this is exactly what we are trying to avoid.

You can try to find loop holes in the rules to justify why you "think" we are over reacting. This is my life and livelihood and that of my family, so you better fucking believe I won't stand by while a few "hobbyist" think we should let it slide. Bruce you may get a chuckle out it, but this is how I feed my family, so I take it serious. Some of you throw 10P4L around like is the cool thing to do, however there are a few of us that actually live it.

Chris: no disrepect intented brother, I was merely trying to lighten things up nor. Was I chuckling. I really do think that all this is nothing malicious. Just someone who love what he does and want to share ideas.

Also cora and I just drilled it a few times and we think that its provide a good option to the stomp. I always hear master eddie saying not all techniques are 100% effective, so why not have options?? Lockdown is great but it too have holds, I'm sure being a small guy, James know he needs more than one way to prevent big dudes from smashing on him, as much as he competes.

I feel like Bobby Rivers' post was spot on. 10th planet is very open and warm, but tough love is part of the game. I know that's your boy so you probably feel bad on his behalf. I don't see anyone going at his throat. Some people like it. Others feel that it has more problems than solutions.

As far as the rules, I can't remember exactly, but I recall seeing that rule on the first day I registered. It's a pretty well known rule. And hey, if your boy didn't know, it's all good. Small foul.

As far as constructive criticism.......first, his presentation doesn't follow that line of thought. It wasn't a video of, "hey what do you think?" It was, "I'm going to teach you something." That said, he did receive constructive criticism. Some people like it, some people see more problems than solutions.

But that's what happens when you put yourself out there in the wrong context. He comes here for positive reinforcement and he gets it often. "Hey, look what I did." "Good job buddy." This time he stepped in the wrong context. Now he's not just a competitor, but an instructor. "Hey guys I'm going to teach you guys something new!" And instead of "Good job buddy" he got, "I don't think this is effective." I don't see hostility. Maybe some people were offended. But I didn't see any hostility.

I agree with what you said about bobbys post david, and definitely the wrong format of seeing what you guys think but i do think there was some hostility and a little bit of tension since the last thing about him emphasizing his size(thats where the throat thing came from) but this will pass, look bruce is back, put please an official sticky is needed
