Only applying it to affiliated instructors and hot boxes makes no sense. How is it acceptable for some white belt from a different school to post lockdown instructionals, but a purple belt, certified instructor, who probably actually knows about the lockdown and has some real, applicable variations to show the community can't? That sounds silly.

Yeah I don't really feel right about that either. But it's a free world on the interwebs. But I mean, Logan Cook's video was more of a "what do you guys think?" Jake's was more like "this is an instructional." I think that's the difference that has some people feeling uncomfortable.

I think a rule should be implemented to non affiliates trying to post instructionals.

1. State your rank and your school.
2. State that you are merely a fan of the 10th Planet System, but not an affiliated student or instructor.

Good shoulder Pressure, and a good No hand Pass, will work. Anytime someone goes to traditional I'm instantly hiding my leg, or looking for a no hand, but then again. I'm just a blue belt I don't know shit in the grand scheme of things Lol.

I feel like this could be passed as well. We're all about pressure passing, shoulder pressure...well, just a lot of pressure at our school. As soon as that lockdown isn't in place, you're screwed.

Also, I know tons of people below brown belt that have something they're killer at and could teach to someone and have details on that maybe someone else of the same or even higher rank doesn't know. You could be a blue belt with a brown belt triangle. Or you could be a white belt with a white belt triangle and that's why the rules are in place.

I don't watch videos unless I trust the information. That means, you're Eddie Bravo, or you're one of his brown or black belts that I know by name...that way I don't have to sit here and ask myself if it will work or if I'll get caught etc. No one likes wasting their time esp. on a technique that could get you in bad spots.

In my mind rule number 1 is never to let someone get into my inside space like this in the first place. I think its a good technique if you mess up big time by not dominating the inside space.

There are several holes in it.

You would never give up the security of the lockdown, to just go back to the lockdown again. As Brandon mention the lockdown was weak in the video to begin with.

The second he opened his legs it would have been passed by anyone with solid understanding of the lockdown system. Like John mention, a tight head and arm with legit shoulder pressure then switching to the triangle with the legs shuts the rest of the progression down. No hands pass, buttocks compressor and Twister Pass all perfect options to pass here with little resistance. Half guard (passing and using it) is my game , if anyone tried this to me it would be a gift.
