When I do the Fly over in the warm up C, I always end up landing in Twister side control instead of judo side control. Does anyone else have that issue? Is it really a bad thing?
I land in a bridge for the flip over, but the fly over you land in side control correct? I'm just trying to get the warm ups down and make sure I'm doing them correctly. It just seems more natural for me to land in twister instead of judo and wanted to know if there is a disadvantage other than just not doing the drill like it is setup.
Ah, 2 names because its 2 variations, I love this about 10p. I use the flip over I guess. yeah if your doing it as the warmups you need to switch your hips in the air to land in scarf. Again, without seeing you do it, it's hard to tell anything.
The deal is, that hip switch makes sure he doesn't sweep you. That motion and hip switch is very similar to the bj penn butterfly pass (i only know it by that name) except you land in scarf instead.
I guess it is to make it harder to sweep. I have just been trying to work on my twister side control and have made it a habit to get to it as fast as I can.
Thanks
Getting to it fast isn't bad, do the fly over perfect, then make a perfect transition from scarf to twister side, getting more repped and cleaner reps.
Landing in twister side isn't bad as long as you get the pass but you should land in judo side for this warm up, you should have the control to do either but practice it the way it is demonstrated :-)
