Hey guys, just wanted to update everyone on here of our squad's performance over the weekend. We competed in the final tournament of the Elite Federation of Grapplers Circuit for 2013, and DOMINATED! We captured ALL THREE Team Awards, captured several championships, and even had 2 of our members represent Team USA vs. Team Canada in the National Cup and picked up the wins! The end of the year point totals haven't been released yet to post everyone's overall results. But I will post them when they are released.
I did however win both my Divisions and capture the State Championship in Expert No-Gi (180-189lbs.), as well as Gi Purple Belt. I won my No-Gi matches by Straight Ankle Lock in 0:15 Seconds over a 4th Degree Purple Belt, and my other match in 0:09 against a Purple Belt from Windsor BJJ in Canada. Won my Gi matches by Arm Bar in 0:60 Seconds over a Head coach from Saulo Ribeiro, and won the finals (2-0). Once the brackets were completed, they started the National Cup where i was bumped up to 225lbs. to defeat a Purple Belt (8-2) in No-Gi. Overall it was a great tournament for everyone, but an even better year. Winning both my divisions made it so I won the overall standings Undisputedly, and earned the crown!
