My coach told me that once he was in Brazil (mostly training at different Nova União gyms) He had been training with Soneca. Soneca was teaching in basically the lobby of a giant office complex that had a huge space with planters and such. Some dude came in and said he wanted to challenge Soneca to take over the space to teach their himself. My coach told the guy had to go against him first, Soneca said shut-up I got this, then he spanked the guy.

Brother this brings tears to my eye when I watch it. Like I said in my other post that Cora has been working on attacking with angles and so far her favorite is the carni. She's been getting the carni more often now in rolling against everyone, well when she does it so much, some of the higher level kid got wind on it and start to find a way to get rid of the hook faster, and being that its a kimura like submission she just can't rip their shoulder off like she would in a tournament, so she crank it really slow allowing them to escape without hurting them. Well now instead of just letting them roll, she figure out on her own that she can do a swim move from a fail carni, right into spider web. Which basically what this video is......

Also she is now doing rubber guard from the mount... how crazy is that?? She would get mount and set up the rubber guard, the kid would try to roll her over, right into the carni. I didn't even know what had happen when it was happening until I got home and rewatch the rolling on the video. I guess we are heading on the right path.

My whole guard at this point is pretty much just an excuse to land a Monoplata or a Carni. I love that stuff. I obsess over it.
