Ok it's not what you think....but it may be just as traumatic.Lol I have had the great fortune to train everyday with what I think to be the best Jiu Jitsu instructors around right at my own gym. Black Belt JD ( I will use initials to protect the innocent. Lol.) was there at the beginning days of the UFC and his Jiu Jitsu is off the hook, high level crazy stuff. He encourages me to think out of the box and don't be afraid to travel the path less traveled. That works in well with the 10th Planet stuff I work into my game. To keep me grounded I had brown belt CM under Flavio Behring. He pounded me with all the needed stuff for the hardcore traditional JJ game. Through him I have been able to work with Master Behring who is a true legend. He has been called the adopted son of Helio Gracie taken to live and train with Helio when he was 9. Now in his 70's he is still amazing.
Now here's the problem. Brown Belt CM had a falling out with the owner of my gym ( He is a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu as well BUT NOT MY JJ INSTRUCTOR. He works with me on my MMA. But the whole gym belongs to him) They disagreed about the direction some of the things were taking. But it ended up that CM left. He went across town and started teaching JJ at another MMA school.
Here's the problem. All 3 love and look out for me. I have just as much respect for all 3 of them. Their issues with each other are not my issues. For weeks I have been bouncing back and forth training between both places. They know that what I have been doing and neither talks bad about the other place. But I can't help but feel like the kid caught in a custody battle between parents.Lol. I even went through the denial phase that this would all blow over and they would get back together. But I have faced the fact that is not going to happen. I just want to work with the best people who can help me realize the goals I have set for myself. Tough to stay focused being pulled in different directions. Anyone ever face a similar situation? Any suggestions ?
