"gimmick Moves"

10th planet moves are all gimmick moves, because none of it works......

there was a thread going about legit moves a couple months ago, talking about the fist choke and if there is such thing as a cheap sub. i dont think there is really. i mean there are subs that catch people off guard and there are competition proven subs that work and are therefore are a lot more useful than subs that might not work most of the time.

and bobby, i get a lot of people to tap out in my lockdown, just by bringing my inside leg over and extending it out. ive tapped enough people to make it legit enough for me.

my least favourite thing though is when im half way through a technique and they tap before the sub is even on, just because they dont know what it is.

happens everywhere ive been. Most traditional guys dont like the newer setups. Every time I hear them complain its usually cause they were holding onto me resting and I made them work to actually hold on. As most of us on here im sure the a.d.d moments kick in and we get bored and want to move to the next position, alot more frequently then most

Most of my favorite subs are either "gimmicks" or they flat out "don't work." Meh. You're the chump getting caught in a wrist lock.

Wrist locks. Punch choke. The Peanut. Toe Holds from Spider Web and top side control. The less you believe it's possible, the more interested I am in it. I eventually plan on incorporating the entire WWF encyclopedia into my submission game.

to elaborate a bit more, from normal lockdown instead of the inside leg go under i bring it over the top and twist it under the otherside of the foot which puts my shin along their calf, when i extend my legs it squeezes their leg in between mine. i like it over the lockdown in some situations because i feel it can control the opponent better, especially against bigger opponents. its also works well when doing a stomp. nothing fantastically different nd it works better for me than others because im flexible but its another tool in the tool box.

wont disagree with the better training partners though. that and i need more of them.

Both of my older daughters play tennis, which means I also play tennis so I can chill with them. While I am no tennis expert...I understand the basic idea (hit the ball where your opponent aint). So my oldest daughter is all the way at the back of her court...so I hit the ball softly near the net so she couldn't get to it. She say, "Ahh...you cheap shotted me". Evidently, the kids on the tennis team call this a cheap shot...I guess because they would rather volley a lot and get longer play at practice.

I had to explain to my daughter that defining strategic play as a "cheap shot" automatically causes you to persu other avenues...and certainly will make you slower at both initiating these strategies as well as defending them (if the other kids on the team also avoid these techniques)...in short...it prevents you from becoming better, and it will show at comp time

My favorite "gimmick" move(in as few words as possible)
Staple their shin to mat using your shin(close to their ankle). Grab toes. Pull.
If done correctly the shin to shin pressure can cause the tap without even going for the toes.
