Sock Lock - Counter to Spiral Guard <VIDEO>

This is a foot lock that can be applied when your opponent begins to entangle you in the Spiral Guard (Reverse De La Riva, RDLR). If you land this a few times, they'll be very hesitant to ever put their feet near you again.

I picked this up from competition video of Victor and Braulio Estima. Very, very nasty stuff.

Here's video of Victor Estima landing it against Clark Gracie. If you can find the footage of Braulio vs Lovato from ADCC a few years back, you'll see that match being finished with a variation of this same idea.

Keep your elbows tighter than what I do in the video. Estima even goes to a RNC grip instead of the Figure 4. I can't do that to Josh's big foot or it'll snap. Tight elbows always.
