I don't see it that way at all. To my eyes he used the Pyramid to set up the Triangle. That is very much a rubber guard technique. Rubber Guard is more than just Mission Control/New York.

A tad ironic isn't that Rubber Guard and Royler Gracie are both share the same initials, "RG"?

Negative. He had an overhook with his left arm and pyramid with his legs. The single wrist control is what allowed him to swing his right leg into triangle.
When you say double wrist control guard I think feet on the hips with two hands with wrist control, certainly not pyramid with an overhook.
