Something I play with from a lot of positions is controlling someone's arm by reaching behind their back to hook over their forearm, same grip you'd use to pin someone's arm if you were working towards an RNC. I did it here in comp (starting around 9:15) from quarter guard:
I don't generally use it to sub by taking it behind their back like that, but just pinning their arm to their stomach controls the daylights out of people and lets me work to sweep or to transition. Everyone I've rolled with knows I go for it and if there was ever a "my move" this little grip would be it. The only person who's shut me down on it was Brandon Mccraghen when I tried it on him in Indy. (Hespect!) I hit it like crazy from everywhere otherwise and it works on guys as high as purple belt any time I drop in at another gym, so I don't think it's just a noob-killer.
My question is does anyone know of any instructional videos/literature/tips that utilize this grip? I know it's not a big flashy "new" move but I get a ton of milage out of it and want to use it for set ups I might not have thought of.
Thanks guys.
