10th Planet Rochester Fighter Joey DiSalvo will be repping 10P on The Fighter's Source Fight Series (www.fighterssource.com)which is a new Ammy MMA Fight series to find true National and World Champions. Joey made the roster for the 185 lb divsion (he will fight off for the starting spot on Team Syracus Gladius on March 8th while defending his 185lb title). I also made the team as an assistant coach. The Head Coach will be Ryan Ciotoli (Jon Jones old head coach along with a number of UFC and Bellator fighters). The Show will be air on Direct TV (the format is similiar but not the same as the old IFL). Here's a little video promo of the league.

Team Syracuse Gladius set to compete in the National and World Championships! Upstate NY MMA puts together an All-Star Line-up
Syracuse, NY (January 28, 2014): The NY MMA community has put together an elite team of MMA fighters and coaches from all over the state to represent Team Syracuse Gladius in a national championship featuring teams from New York City, San Francisco, Tennessee, Chicago, Milwaukee, Miami, and Denver. It will be an eight-team bracket style tournament with individuals advancing after each win. The first round for Team Syracuse Gladius will be in Tennessee in late April with the final round held in NYC in June. The winners of the national tournament will be given the opportunity to compete in London for the World Championships in September. Other countries that will be competing in the World Championships are Sweden, South Korea, Venezuela, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Norway, Denmark, and Ireland.
Gladius Fights Promoter, Ryan Ciotoli, reached out to the top teams and coaches in upstate NY to form an elite team of not only fighters, but coaches as well. Ciotoli said “I contacted the top teams and coaches in upstate NY and everyone was excited for the opportunity to be a part of this team. I felt like we came together as a group and picked the best fighters available to bring home the gold”. The teams that are going to represent Team Syracuse Gladius are Tai Kai, 5 Element, Ultimate Athletics, Cortland MMA, 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Rochester, and Premier. The coaching staff will include Jason Porter, Dennis Segrue, Chris Herzog, Tim Boda, Randy Smith, Ryan Ciotoli and Todd Peters. Ciotoli commented “These coaches are really the top committed martial artists in NY and have been in the sport since the beginning. I am really looking forward to working together with this collective group and each of them bring a unique knowledge of the sport.”
Team Syracuse Gladius will fill eight weight classes, 135,145,155,170,185,205, Womens 125, and Womens 135 weight divisions. There will also be eight alternate spots if a fighter cannot compete due to injury. Some spots have been filled and other spots will be determined on Gladius Fights 10 in Rochester, NY and Art of Combat March 15. Ciotoli said “The spots that are filled right now are 145 Derak Heyman 4-0 (Tioga, NY) 155 Josh Mayville 7-0 (Newark, NY), 170 Alex Henry 5-0 (Ithaca, NY), 205 Tyler Baier 4-0, Womens 125 Angie Reinhardt 2-2 (Binghamton, NY) Womens 135 Janice Myer 2-1. Bryce Talini (Syracuse, NY) vs Mike Bennett (Binghamton, NY) will determine the 135 spot and Tom Connolly (Binghamton, NY) vs Joey DiSalvo (Rochester, NY) will determine the 185 spot March 8th for Gladius 10 March 8th”.
