That's outstanding!!! I've always had trouble finding a grappling dummy I liked repping rubberguard on, which one do you use?

It's not 'brilliant' it is made by 'Ring 2 Cage', but you can put it on its knees and hold it in your guard and work rubber guard on it. I find it useful for teaching myself the movements of things. I've never in my life trained with anyone who has taught at or even trained in a 10th planet school and yet I have been tapping people with Invisible Collar and Dead Orchard, because I'm able to rep the movements So, although expensive I think it is worth it if you have the money (like a heavy bag - probably the least important part of boxing, way behind footwork, pad work and sparring, but useful nonetheless).

He was showing us this today, and there's a subtle difference. He is trapping both shoulders inside. It's very, very powerful. Polished some stuff up for me. Really slick.

Just to make sure I got this right, Brackish waters is basically muddy waters with no hand to the mat, trapping opponents far shoulder with a high double bag (stated at 0:59, 1:31, 1:47).

Now the modified position, where you trap the near shoulder and far shoulder from the brackish waters with an angled triangle, is this considered a new position? If so what are you calling it? (1:44- 4:18), (3:30-4:11)

Ok, at this point I want to hold off naming a sub position in brackish waters but in answer to both your questions: The starting position of brackish waters can be thought of as either muddy waters without the arm trapped or the “locking the shoulder” position off the “toss” while grabbing your foot. WITHOUT THE OTHER STEPS, THAT’S POINTLESS THOUGH. Because you would just be stall, you’d have to just release it eventually and go for the toss. Brackish waters gives you the opportunity to LOCK THE OTHER SHOULDER AND PROCEDE DOWN THIS PATH WITHOUT EVER GIVING UP THE SUPERIOR COUTROL IT OFFERS.
The “angled triangle position” at the end is just one of the final steps of brackish waters to me, because YOU DON’T EVEN NEED THE TRIANGLE THERE, I DO IT WITH JUST MY FEET CROSSED ON BIGGER GUYS ALL THE TIME. The other should being in stops the posturing up.

I couldn't believe the difference in the position. Very subtle but super powerful. He's on to some of that Rickson level invisible Jiu Jitsu kinda stuff here.
