I've seen guys use this counter. Building tension in the hips is a great way to throw them off base. As far as the marce is concerned, idk if it would happen here. There would be the whole mounting issue though. In order to build that tension you need to get close, but if he has to let go to release the tension and mount, at least you aren't in the darce anymore.

I think this is a good counter if you are in lockdown but when I am setting in a darce if they have lockdown I bail.

That being said could this work if someon locks in the darce from side control? Or do you use your legs like in the mechanic sweep?

I didnŽt want to make a 15 minutes video of it so some vital info was left out..My bad. This Counter/Escape works the best when people over commit for the DŽarce. Even if you donŽt get the whole roll with the "Wax off" move it will help you getting your back against the mat and release some presure. If they get you deep in the Dárce thereŽs not many moves that will help you recover..So timing is essential, just like any other escape.

When you do the Marce you need your kness up to his head in a crunch to prevent the are from coming across the body for this defense. In this, the arm is already lost, as was previously mentioned.

I would love to see the longer version!! Very interested in seeing opinions on this for JNT. If I have the leg caught, I still finish JNT with high percentage even after the "waxing" move gets the arm out. Because my arm is so tight to my chest, the "waxing" arm just get crammed back into the mix. I also finish JNT really inverted after they really roll with me to get on top. If I am in vice grip and can't get the leg for JNT or get deeper for darce, I open up for this escape and wait. When the do it I slide to North South for my North south choke rep.

What do you think about people that step over to mount to finish the darce? A lot of times, going flat helps them with the step over. I agree going flat is better than staying on your side if you're already in the choke, because usually people don't mount to finish unless they're pretty strong darcers. But if they can step over that's probably the strongest darce finish out there. Judt food for thought.

I'm trying this tonight. I've done similar to escape the JNT.
