    Saturday Night Ride

Two of the guys I regularly grapple with are former wrestlers who like doing the "Saturday Night Ride". They use it more of a stalling tactic, and a way to wear you out by using their weight. It's a pain in the ass to kick my legs out of the hooks. What is the most efficient and best way you guys deal with this move?

    Thanks.

ah yeah i think most 10th planet guys call that "skydiving" in mount.
im pretty sure that i deal with it by using one of me feet to kick out a hook on the opposite leg and use the free leg to work from quarter guard.. its not easy, but face it, its a shit position to be in and at least theyre not working for submissions.

Gotta watch for that ezekiel though.
Yeah, that's basically what I try to do. There's gotta be something to do to reverse it or turn it into a submission.

not really, its meant to be utilized as an extremely stable position where you cant be rolled, and you cant really do anything to someone mounted on you... besides trying to get a cross choke from the bottom... but i wouldnt recommend that. you can also try to straighten out your legs and get the crook of your knees to the ground.

No, I mean the guy doing the ride from the top could do an easy ezekiel.

grapevine mount is another name that is used. i'm going to try to figure out to transition to a position of advantage from this or at least put the guy on top in some discomfort at least.

In GJJ we call that the superhooks, except we dont grapevine the legs. Our strategy is actually to hold that untill the opponent is demoralized or help comes. The strategy I'm familiar with is if they grapevine like those guys did, extend your legs straight out to put pressure on their knees, can even get a tap.
