    T-Rexing

I find more people are using the t-rex when I mount them or get in to side control. If they are smart and keep their elbows in I find it makes it really difficult to get any type of submissions going. Im working on a few side control position to open up the arms but just wondered if anyone had any advice or videos they could point me to for combatting people you just chill and t-rex?

    Thanks in advance...

While skydiving take your elbow and jam it in his carotid artery. When he addresses it, never let him re-t-rex.

This. Also if you can go 2 on 1 on one of his arms, you can try to muscle an americana out of it. Best case scenario you get the tap from that, but more than likely he's gonna start squirming to defend, in which case you either get a deep hook and transition to spider web or dig for head and armpit control on whichever arm you can get it on.

Or you could also try to bait him with your foot to go samurai.

The Motorboat works too.. Grab their head and push your tities into their face until they open up.. I've seen people tap to it before as well

you can isolate an arm in transition to the mount. if that is not an option, 2 on 1 is a great option. we call it the t-lock. there is a whole series there.

I do this thing, I call it frog hopping bc I have nothing else to call it, but it really works for me. From skydive I uncross my ankles, put both hands on the crown of their head, glue your knees to their ribs and scoot scoot scoot to high mount. :-) From there I go t-lock series to armbar usually. Hope this helps!!

I asked my instructor about this recently and I got a similar response to what Chad as said here.

I wanted to clear the near arm to isolate it, maybe progress to north-south etc, but a lot of people have a crazy strong t-rex. So attacking the opposite arm for an americana can really bait them out to using their arms to defend. You can use your legs then to isolate the near arm.

Possible outcomes are a successful americana, clearing of the near arm, or a failed clear and they manage to shrimp a little, maybe opening up for the darce/jap necktie.
