Just keep at it man!the twister roll is a hard one to master. From twister side I would get my back taken 90% of the time. I had to go through a trial and error phase before I got it down.
From turtle the stand up pass warm up breaks it down well. The MTS episode I mean.

the guy im attacking is in turtle. in Mastering the twister Book they call it the twister roll. I think in the DVD which is like a year later he calls it the ninja roll.

Are you rolling over the wrong shoulder?? That would most def put you in bottom half. If you're in twister side on their right side you should be Rollin over your left shoulder. If you roll over your right you'll basically pull them right into half.

thx man, sometimes I wonder if I should go back to basic kimura, americana, knee on belly to mount, or opposite armbar whatever its called (which I never tried too much cuz everyone does that shit, i feel being unpredicatable is important), but after practicing that for at least a year it seems like I put enough time into it and its time to move on.

I've changed my halfguard game to basic eddie stuff like old school and plan B, but with BJJ side conctrol not the lockdown, I can't get it ith the lockdown, especially the right way, i used to think the feet were closed the other way, I feel like its harder to get to my side. FOr the electric chair its fine, but not old school and plan B. Half and half worked well too, but when going for the twister roll from turtle god dame its way arder to pull off than 10p half guard sweeps.

no, Im not. But its not from twister side, its from the other guy in turtle, say the muffle or the wrestler. Twister side, I cant even get the fish net yet. every time I put my hand on the guys opposite knee he stops turning towards me. So I stoped ding that. I guess I'm slowly getting better at twister side, but I've abandoned it for a while now, I use it more for being unpredictable with guys that know my game, I'll which to twister side to confuse them. I guess I'm trying to get my basics a bit better from side control before I start focusing more on twister side. Im not terrable in traditional side control but I think I need a more work on going to north south and knee slicing to mount.

usually i can;t pull them toward me (the wrestler or desouza, especially desouza) so I roll forward instead (twister roll). Its after that, the person ends up on top of me. I guess its my legs that are not locked down enough or my grip on his foot.

Another possibility is that the people you are rolling with know how to defend the roll. Dempsy has a simple technique that ensures that no matter what the person attempting the twister does, he ends up on top of the roll.

In other words, sometimes you need to try something else.
