Pray now -train later. Missle Launched in LA

According to the NY Daily News, a missile was launched in LA and no one seems to have an explanation. I wonder if there are any contingency plans for running 10th Planet if the headquarters is obliterated?

LOS ANGELES — The Defense Department said Tuesday it wasn't responsible for the mysterious "missile" that streaked across the sky off the Southern California coast Monday night and said it had no clue who could have launched it.

Los Angeles TV station KCBS, whose traffic helicopter captured the device on video, said the missile's location was 35 miles out to sea north of Catalina Island.

The Defense Department stressed that it didn't appear to be a military missile and said it wasn't alarmed. But a spokesman acknowledged that the Pentagon still had no idea who launched the missile.

The spokesman, Marine Col. Dave Lapan, said the Pentagon was talking to the North American Aerospace Defense Command, the Federal Aviation Administration and other government agencies that could track who launched this missile. But "so far, we've come up empty with any explanation," he said.

Other government officials told NBC News it was possible the missile was a commercial launch or even an amateur device.

I don't know.. I mean there's a lot of missiles out there, a lot of switches, wires, tons of people behind the consoles. Shit happens.

It's not hard to get a licence to build and fire amature rockets. My guess would be thats what it was, not a missile.

Andrew, but it was 35 miles OFF the coast in the middle of the ocean? Who the hell has a floating rocket pad? During the cold war, the Russians used to sit of the coast of the US listening to broadcasts.

You'd think if a tactical Nuke Sub did that, the US Military would do ape shit. Somethings going on here and it ain't good.

Im with AJ. Someone spills their coffee on a bunch of switches somewhere, and a bunch of guys are going "shit, do you think anyone saw". Classic.

Im also up for the geeks option. Rockets are not that hard to build and are cool.

Looking at the video that was NOT an amateur rocket (unless that dude was trying to be the first amateur to attain orbit). Honestly, the area around Catalina Island is the Navy's version of Area 51. There is a ton of shady/creepy shit that goes on out there. A lot of the strangest underwater UFO sightings have come from that area. I have a very hard time beliving that as paranoid as the Department of Defense is that they wouldn't be at all concerned about a missle like this 35 miles off the coast of one of the most populous areas of the U.S. The entire country went into a panic in the 60's when a few missiles were parked 90 miles off the coast of Florida and yet in our "post 9/11 world" where everybody is shit scared of everything, this doesn't much concern the national security apparatus? Shit, I remember when a guy went aloft over LA in a chair suspended from balloons and they scrambled freaking fighter jets. Especially with the way the DoD is playing this off as no big deal, it has to be a Navy test of some kind. NORAD would lose their shit if somebody unbeknownst to them was launching missiles like this.

That settles it, time to relocate HQ to the east coast! And by east coast I obviously mean south florida!

You won't even notice a difference Eddie, same weather, hurricanes instead of quakes, thats all haha.
