Alabama State Champions!
I'm so proud of our guys from 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur and from 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Gulf Shores. They went out there and laid it down today. It's truly incredible to be associated with such a hard working group of individuals. One of the proudest moments of my martial arts career so far. Every single person that competed gave their best, whether they won or lost. What else can you ask for as a coach?
Sean has done such great work with the Gulf Shores squad. To simply say I'm proud of him would be criminally understating it. I love that guy. We brought our teams together and made a big statement today.
My favorite part, though? Watching our students display an attitude of service at the end of a long day. They all stayed around after the tournament and helped clean and store the mats. They didn't have to do it, but they chose to. To me, that's what the martial arts is really about. We're seeking to live lives of service to others, and to better ourselves and the community around us; even if it means stepping outside of our comfort zones for just a little bit. You guys are difference makers, and you will be for the rest of your lives.
Thank you for letting me be your coach. I'm honored beyond words
Gonna start posting videos as they get uploaded. Sean (and anyone else with footage), please post your vids here.
