Dude, that was a blast. And lots of lessons learned.
1.) The ginger snap is good if I can get that arm on the other side of my body, but that's not an option on guys who play the constant smash/squeeze game like wrestlers.
2.) I need to decide how important winning in competition is to me.
2:00 in is when I thought he passed out in the triangle. I loosen my legs to check on him and that's when he spins out. Also at about 3:30 after the omoplata attempt when I had his back pushing his arm, I remember it hitting that tension point and thinking "this feels like it could be an injury in a second".. I don't know, I understand the me or him mindset.. But I feel like I'd rather tap and lose a match than win by injuring someone, even if it was they had the option of tapping.
I still absolutely love competing. Even if I have to lose everytime I get to did holes in my game I've never seen before. Ironically, this was the worst I've ever done in a tournament and it's the most fun I've had at one as well. Seeing everyone there together reppin 10th planet. And the whole team just wrecking shop. Such a great time.
