Anybody get knee barred from quarter guard?

For those quarter guard players, ever run into a really good knee bar guy that spins into the knee bar from your quarter guard? What are your options when this happens?

I haven't had anybody do it but I can seet it being something to worry about. I assume underhooking that free leg would stop the option....?

MU HA HA HA... or um I me uh yeah I do that stuff. I have to get my other leg to the other side of your body to do that ( back step, slice, clear head there are lots of options for this). If the guy has serous skill with this move, your best bet is to stop that part. Once your in it, see standard knee bar defense I guess because its just like every other knee bar at that point...

If they back step over directly into the knee bar, just use your standard knee bar escapes/defense. If they use the Capoeira Cowboy and back step into the Russian Cowboy position there is a transition to the Truck I've been working on. I've only hit it about 10-12 times rolling on my better leg lockers, so I still have little details to hammer out, however even when I've been unsuccessful at establishing the truck I forced them to scramble and avoided the knee bar.

Stiff arm goes right in their neck like a rape choke basically you just gotta know what's up and know what they're doing before you have to defend a knee bar just come right out on top

That step back (capoeira type pass) makes playing quarter guard really tough. The knee bar is probably the least of my worries as there are several higher percentage subs there like cloverleaf, heel hooks an toe holds. Also an extremely difficult position to get out of. I prefer this to 50/50 because the person on top has tons of subs while the bottom quarter guard player basically has nothing unless top player makes a mistake. This is the entire reason we play very little quarter guard at our school. No one wants to get stuck in that position (think spider web for leg locks).

I usually get it in transition or from deep half or butterfly. I only play quarter guard against guys that are not from my gym or guys I know don't have a leg lock game.

Nice once Eddie implemented the warmups none of my guys give me the lockdown at all (they love to stand n pass) plus when we were out in Cali last we did a week of 1/4 guard so it's been working great for me next time we get together I'd like to see what you play from there I suck at leg locks are you gonna be at Rochester on the 28th?
