Battle 4 the ages drops Avery's bracket?!?

Well Avery isn't gonna be able to rep cuz " the 17 year old bracket collapsed":-( Evidently the champion(from the gi tourney in Jan) got injured so the whole bracket falls apart?!? BFA says none of the others wanted to make the trip if they can't face the champ:/ what does the champ in gi have to do with a Nogi tourney? They couldn't find another 17yo to replace him? I know not all competitors bowed out , Avery is down as they come & it sux he don't get a chance to showcase his SKILLZ! Thoughts?

Thats weird. Sounds like either BFA or some of the competitors are taking themselves too seriously. There seems to be a world of jiu jitsu drama in the kids and teens grappling world I never knew about

Hey guys, no one wants to see Avery go against Andy Cordova more than me, I'm sick of his berimbolo and 50/50 to be honest. However, with Andy beating everyone so bad here in Tx and in Cali, its pretty hard to get anyone in the bracket. Its very hard to find 17 yr old competitor who winning to face other top 17 yr old in an absolute match. I tried really hard to help refer top kids to be in this bracket but none took up the challenge except for Avery and another kid. Then on top of that, in his matches to Win the Pan Am, Andy Cordova hurt himself and can't fight. I'm pretty bummed over this also.

On another note, I can try to set something up if Avery really want to test himself against the best in TX for his age group. Yeah I got power like that...LOL

Once I finish competing in my bracket I would roll with anyone. They should have kept the bracket intact and what was left open for spots asked the winners and the guys with game from the 14,15,16 year old bracket to step up to fill that division. Just my thoughts for what it's worth. After all it is the last bracket of the day so everyone else would already be done.

Conner: the last bracket of the day is the Teen girls. In replacement for the 17 yr old bracket, they have put in the Young girl (age 10-12) bracket which Cora is also in. As for you challenging someone after your division is over. If you really want it, I can set that up easily. And I do recommend you to test yourself against a 13 yr old from Houston name Roberto. If you want that match up, I will set it up. Let me know.

I wasn't putting that out their to "test" myself or like I had any kind of ego that I will roll with anyone because I'll beat them. the reason for saying that is because I have done it many times over for NAGA. And many times got my A@# kicked. I feel if kids show up to roll they should be given a chance to roll. I just think it would be better for the 17 year old who has been training to be able to compete against someone/anyone rather than have the division cancelled less than a week away. I'm sure John's guy would have rather rolled with me than not compete at all. He's half my size and I'm sure he would be all over me.....I've watched him. Lol. I wouldn't care if I lost to him or anyone else if it gave them a chance to compete. That's all I was saying. I also know their is another division at the end, but it would be the last of the teen boys stuff. I'm pretty sure the last division of girls 10-12 wouldn't want to jump in on a teen 17 year old division.

As far as setting up other matches that's not really me. If guys want to roll afterwards I will always say yes. But setting matches up and testing myself by calling guys out really isn't my style. I've had it done to me countless times and always said yes win or lose, but I always felt like whys this guy coming to my bracket calling me out....what's he trying to prove? I feel that is kind of a dick move if I started telling people at B4TA I want this kid or I want that kid. I'm sure my hands will be full in my own bracket. I only put out the offer because I wanted Avery a chance to compete. It sucks that he can't. I would be happy to go against him and lose rather than have him not entered at all. That's all I was saying. Wasn't looking to stir things up and throw out challenges to other divisions.
