I think that is a fairly accurate analogy. At this point, and on this forum, I am clearly preaching to the choir. Is it safe to say I can graduate from being a dorky local 10th Planet nerd that gets lucky to that/those guys that recognized the greatness everyone attempted to ignore/discredit? Even after being told how much time I was wasting on stuff that doesn't work on high level guys? No doubt we all have our stories of b.s encountered along this journey so I will spare specifics but man, does it feel good to be right! Not that I needed any more validation pre-metamoris but that event is gonna go a long way to more 10p waves in the near future. The time is now people! I had roughly a 3 year plan to be financially set to open a moon with no worries of financial failure but am figuring out potential avenues to get this party started as soon as possible.
I had been introduced and trained at 2 other bjj academies with friends and was uninterested before ever hearing of Eddie and 10th Planet. Those friends introduced me to what I perceived as sloppy wrestling. Bobby Rivers brought Eddie Bravo and the analytic and systematic thought process into my life thus introducing me to what I prefer to think of as Jiu Jitsu, and these well thought out concepts made way more sense than sloppy wrestling. For that I am forever grateful. All the 10p soldiers I have met over the years. BMac has been true and true since we met like 5 years ago. The Applegate's persistence and dedication in an area with NO bjj support until he put it on their asses and built it. Sams a damn warrior and I will be following his career enthusiastically. Zog Keepin it real as hell up North, coming down spreading wealth(s) *plural* of knowledge charging pennies on the dollar of what the man is actually worth. I remember the training camp he did like 3 years ago, Bobby and I were sitting around in the daytime when the school was closed and everyone was at work/school. Zog was giving us basically free privates helping any area we had issues with for nothing more than wanting to see us succeed. (maybe a couple smoke outs, who knows). Tons of other positive experiences with awesome people I would have otherwise never had the pleasure of knowing.
This rant was long enough and may have been redundant. It's just a very good time to be a 10P soldier and feels even better to have been ride or mf'n die since it was "just a fluke and the shit didn't work."
