today we competed at the montgomery open in montgomery, AL. we had several people compete today, including brandon mccaghren and myself. here is the one match i had. it was mens expert 150. i will upload more as the videos make their way to me.

So, I got stuck in traffic and showed up after my division had already ended. I weighed in at 176 and ended up competing in the 200+ lbs Expert Division. Yikes.
Here's match #1. Features an Electric Chair sweep, some Invisible Collar, and an Oliveira Knee Crush, which has turned into one of my most frequent subs in competition somehow. Hats off to Herzog for this one.

Round 2. This Dude is a quality Brown Belt and a heck of a nice guy.
I had to escape the back, defend a kimura, and then escape an arm bar (this is the one we were talking about, John Botello) before moving him to 50/50 and finishing an Inverted Heel Hook. It was bad. It was popping all over the place before he tapped. He hurt his ankle but I think he is OK.

Brandon, simply amazing to go out and compete at a high level against guys 50+ lbs. heavier than you, especially coming off neck surgery not long ago. It's an honor to call you my coach and friend, truly an inspiration!
Sean, fantastic entry to inverted heel hook! Looking like Gary Tonon out there. Hoping to get down to Gulf Shores around September to take the family to the beach and sneak off for a few hours and train with you guys
